"What sort of things did you look at when you drew this?" Actually, nothing in particular. I kind of looked at images of the LOTR movies to get a proper feeling, and then I started it. I've had quite a few years of practice, though, and also, even though I live in the US now, I come from Europe, which means I have been raised seeing castles, mountains and historical monuments my whole life.
"What is your preferred Medium? And why?" Probably oil. Because of the sensation you get when you paint on canvas with it. But I also like acrylic, watercolor, ink, and pencil, all for their own reasons and feeling using them. I also like digital, for the fact you can control all your parameters, but the results is not remotely comparable to the feeling you get as a human being when you're in the presence of a traditional work of art.
"Did the movie project you made this for get anywhere?" Not yet. We'll see where it goes.
"What got you into Art?" Ah, big question. I think I was just born with it. I wanted to be a comic book artist at first, was drawing even before my mom taught me how to read and write. Became a semi-pro doing comic books in France, then switched to animation, where I met many great painters who taught me their skills. And here I am now.
I learned on my own, since I was a kid. I started with inks, looking at how different artists worked. Eventually, I also tried with watercolor. I will start publishing books and dvds on different techniques soon. Oil, watercolor, acrylic, digital, etc... Stay tuned...
